Mazatlan is a major city with good roads going in and out. Highway 15, a well-maintained toll road, connects Mazatlan to the United States via Nogales, and continues south to Guadalajara. Highway 40 heads east from Mazatlan over the Sierra Madre Occidental to Durango and central Mexico. |

Mazatlan's airport is just 12 miles (20 km) from the city, a taxi or bus ride of 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. The airport is small, but does offer connections to a few major U.S. cities. |
