Airports
The General Mariano Escobedo International Airport is located 10 miles (24 km) northeast of Monterrey. This airport services almost 300 daily flights to more than 35 destinations in Mexico, North America, and Europe. Taxis, car rentals and mini bus service are the only transportation available from the airport. No public transportation is available.
Ground Transportation
A few options are available while in Monterrey. A simple two-line metro system can be a good source to get you to various locations within the city. Taxis are a good method of getting around. Knowing some Spanish will be helpful when taking a taxi. A luxury bus is available to get you to Monterrey from Mexico City but the 12-hour ride is considered a long one by most.
Basic Directions
Monterrey is easily accessible by road. Tolled interstate roads as well as the less maintained "free" federal roads connect Monterrey to the rest of the country. Monterrey can be reached via the 85, 40, 53,and 54 Highways.
